Tortillas (Yeasted Dough)

If you keep the dough base on hand, these are easy to pull together. These tortillas freeze well so you can even prepare quesadillas using Daiya cheese (the havarti wedge with jalepenos is incredible) for a really quick lunch option. When rolling the tortillas out, do not be afraid to heavily dust with wheat starch to get them not to stick. You can always dust them off after they are cooked!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cook for Love Multipurpose Dough Base
  • 1/4 cup Wheat Starch for rolling

Method
 

  1. Add a little wheat starch to your work area. Divide the dough into 20 equal balls (38 mg) and cover with plastic wrap.
  2. Press the ball down into a flat circle.
  3. On your work surface, add more wheat starch. Gently roll the dough into a 6 inch circle, adding more wheat starch as needed.
  4. Heat up a cast iron pan on medium high.
  5. Place the tortilla onto the pan. Cook for 2 minutes, flip and cook an additional 2 minutes.

Notes

10 mins prep time if your dough is already in the fridge.
